Julia Margaret Cameron

This is pretty neat. It includes some pictures I didn't include and it has a few articles. If you want to see the slideshow, just click on her name in the left column(it's in ABC order).
MOP- JMC
British photographer:
Born 1815 in Calcutta, India. Died 1879 in Sri Lanka.
Wife of a retired jurist(name is currently unknown; will search for later).
Began career in photography at the age of 48 after receiving a camera as a gift. She photographed mostly in her home in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. She photographed the people around her, including family, friends, neighbors, and even servants. She also moved in high social circles and got the chance to photograph certain leaders and intellectuals(within her circle of family and friends), including the portrait painter George Frederick Watts, the astronomer Sir John Herschel, and the Poet Laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson. She was greatly inspired by literature and in turn inspired some writers. She was also influenced by the work of Raphael, Giotto, and Michelangelo.

Quote: "My aspirations are to ennoble Photography and to secure for it the character and uses of High Art by combining the real and Ideal and sacrificing nothing of the Truth by all possible devotion to Poetry and beauty."
